Happy Friday!

Here is a list of a few things I'm thinking about or exploring.

Documentary I Watched:

Titan: The OceanGate Disaster- Netflix - Click to view

I found this documentary to be a powerful, unsettling cautionary tale. It dives deep into the CEO’s ego-driven leadership and the bad decisions that led to the OceanGate tragedy. The real audio and whistleblower accounts hit hard. It’s one of those stories that leaves you shaken and more aware of how unchecked ambition can lead to real disaster. It’s crazy how many warnings were ignored and how blind confidence seemed to override basic safety. It’s a reminder to walk in humility, not arrogance. But it also raises a tough question: When does ambition cross the line from courageous to reckless?

Quote I am Pondering:

“Be fearful when others are greedy, and be greedy when others are fearful - Warren Buffett”

This speaks to the power of thinking differently in uncertain times. In real estate, this means not jumping into the market just because everyone else is. When the market is hot and prices are climbing, bidding wars are common, and buyers are rushing in, it can be risky. That’s often when people overpay or make rushed decisions they later regret. On the other hand, when the market slows down, inventory rates rise, and uncertainty creeps in. Many buyers pull back out of fear. But this can actually be the best time to step in. With less competition, more motivated sellers, and better negotiating room, buyers who stay informed and think long-term can find great opportunities. The key is to stay strategic and patient, recognizing that the best deals are often made when others are too nervous to act.

Property Of The Week:

Our latest listing in Port Credit should not be missed! Imagine living just steps from Lake Ontario in one of Mississauga’s most cherished lakeside communities. This warm, inviting home sits on an incredibly rare, large lot, perfect whether you want to move in now or build your dream forever home. Only a short walk from the lively village of Port Credit, with its shops, cafes, and waterfront parks. It’s not just a home, it’s the kind of place where life feels grounded and connected.

What I'm Reading:

Shop Class As Soulcraft By Matthew B. Crawford - Click to view

This book explores the value and meaning of manual work in a modern, technology-driven world. Crawford argues that skilled trades like carpentry and mechanics offer not only a livelihood but also intellectual engagement, personal satisfaction, and a deep sense of purpose. The book challenges the notion that white collar jobs are inherently superior and celebrates craftsmanship as a path to independence, dignity, and fulfillment. Are there any manual skills you would like to learn?

Home Tip: Reduce Hydro Bill In The Heat:

Small changes can make a big difference on your hydro bill during the summer heat. Open windows on opposite sides of your home to create a cross-breeze and keep air flowing. Close blinds or blackout curtains during the hottest part of the day to block out mid-day heat. And don’t forget to reverse your ceiling fan, setting it to spin counterclockwise will push cool air downward, helping to keep rooms more comfortable.

Please, feel free to give some feedback, what have you been into lately?

With love,

-Josh
